A user of Extensis Fonts September 10, 2019 also this thing is blocked on a school computer whats up with that i think google should check it for bad stuff. A user of Extensis Fonts September 10, 2019 Well than where are the wingdings? A user of Extensis Fonts May 31, 2019 Yes that's exactly what I thought! This app kept coming up when I searched how to add custom font's and it kind of seems like false advertising. I downloaded this app when I looked up how to add custom fonts and this was what kept continuously coming up, but when I used it I just saw a font library of google fonts instead of what I thought would be a way to import my own fonts. A user of Extensis Fonts April 5, 2019 That is exactly what I am trying to do! A user of Extensis Fonts February 5, 2019 Hi Luke Chu, Thanks for your feedback. You are absolutely right that Extensis Fonts displays fonts that are also available in the default Google Docs font menu – albeit with a couple of extra steps. The Add-in is an optional menu that allows you to preview and try out different Google fonts directly in your doc without needing to return to the Google Font menu every time. Many users prefer it as it improves productivity and workflow - YMMV. In addition, Extensis Fonts is always up-to-date with all of the available Google Fonts. For example, Staatliches and ZCOOL XiaoWei are two fonts that users have noted are available through Extensis Fonts but not More Fonts… in the Google Font Menu. Along with a number of other users, you said that you were expecting to be able to add custom fonts. Extensis Fonts is not an external font library nor an app that allows you to import non-Google/custom fonts – that's a constraint of how fonts work in Google Docs. As we have seen this feedback in a number of other reviews, we would like to understand from you, or any user, where this perception is coming from. Is it the description? The name of the Add-in? Did you see this functionality documented somewhere? Thanks again for taking to the time to review Extensis Fonts. - Extensis A user of Extensis Fonts December 20, 2018 I'm definitely not a whiz at fonts but, I think you can download them into specific apps . I have a Chromebook and Android tablet using XODO for some stuff. I can download fonts all I want to, but then I have to find the original install file for XODO, open that and find the fonts folder and then import the downloaded font ibro that file. Once I do that, close and reopen XODO and the font should be there. I can't believe how flipping limited this area/idea is!! A user of Extensis Fonts December 7, 2018 I just verified this. All of the fonts available in Google Fonts are accessible through this method. No need to add an extension as a needless middle man. Many thanks, Luke! A user of Extensis Fonts October 13, 2018 Yes, same here. I thought it will allow me to import external fonts or something like that. A user of Extensis Fonts September 19, 2018 Indeed. lol Many Google services look plain on the outset but when you start to dig. then you see them unfold. A user of Extensis Fonts September 17, 2018 Thanks. It's `Obtain fonts` now. A user of Extensis Fonts August 29, 2018 But isn't the point of the app that we can use it in other applications not only Google Docs? i want to point out that while this add-on is still slow and niche, it does include some more recent Google fonts that Docs won't let you add to your list, like Staatliches and Major Mono Display Your review, profile name and photo will appear publicly in Google's services. This is actually pretty decent. The size bar is a little laggy and odd, but there are quite a few nice font options available through this that I wasn't able to otherwise use! Considering that this is free, i'd say it's definitely worth getting for a bit of fun with your font! Your review, profile name and photo will appear publicly in Google's services. There is no search bar in the add-on itself so I have to do it in the normal area. Too many fonts are the same, if I want a basic font then I'll use Arial or Cambria not 100+ different named versions of them. This may be small but the fact that my favourite fonts; Barnabus and Cooper Black are not in this roster of fonts is bothersome. Learn More This add-on was great and save Khmer language font to be usable on google doc. It would be great if you could add a filter to show fonts by language. because it is painful to scroll along way to choose the right fonts for each language. Learn More A user of Extensis Fonts February 1, 2020 Yes, we definitely need a language/script filter! A user of Extensis Fonts March 17, 2018 there r 500+ fonts 2 choose from 👍👍👍👍👍 This extension simply exposes a fonts palette to the right of your document. It performs the exact same function as the font dropdown menu. It does not expose either local fonts, or additional Google fonts. Not worth installing, especially considering the over-reaching permissions required to use it. Your review, profile name and photo will appear publicly in Google's services. Learn More A user of Extensis Fonts February 1, 2020 No, it's lot more handy that the dropdown menu, and that's the point. Fonts were ok, LOATHE the "privacy" ie no-privacy-whatsoever-and-we-have access-to-everything-at-any-time. Also don't like that while I was typing review, number of stars changed by themselves from 2 to 5! Your review, profile name and photo will appear publicly in Google's services. The extension doesn't have the power to change your stars ratings. What is the point of this? It doesn't add any fonts nor does it improve font selection or organization. I was also hoping that I could add some custom fonts to Google Docs' current cache of fonts but for some reason, it isn't allowed? Why? I like some Google Docs fonts, but I'd like some fresh ones from amazing people on the internet, too. What's the reason for not allowing custom fonts? Word allows it o.o Your review, profile name and photo will appear publicly in Google's services. Your review must comply with the Google Workspace Marketplace Comment Guidelines and Review Policies. Third-party fonts are not available in Google Docs - it's a a constraint of how the special web fonts in Google Docs work. - Extensis removed and reloaded this add-on soooo many times, cleared the cache, rebooted the Win10 laptop and still never displayed a single font. nothing, nada, nix! hate this thing. why can't we have nice things? why can't we just access the entire google font library directly!
